Live-in support is an option whereby one of our staff will be available to offer support to the service user 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. By allocating one room of the house to our staff for them to sleep in, the enablers are then living with the service user. These enablers are then able to develop a uniquely positioned relationship with the Service User, whereby they are able to more effectively manage the physical and emotional well-being of the individual.

As part of a well-organised team the live-in enabler is independent in their role, supervised directly by a supervisor and a care manager. As the live-in enabler will have such an integral role within the service user’s home, we encourage our service users and their families to have an input into the recruitment process to ensure that we get the right members of staff.
